Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Colorado Rockies signed veteran southpaw Alan Embree to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2010 on Saturday. Financial terms were not disclosed. Embree, who will be 39 when the season starts, appeared in 70 games for the Oakland Athletics last season, posting a 2-5 mark to go along with a 4.96 earned-run average. He had saved 17 games for the A's in 2007. A veteran of 15 major league seasons, Embree is 37-43 lifetime with 25 saves and a 4.55 ERA in 846 games, four of which have been starts, for the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and A's. |
