Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired left-handed reliever Scott Schoeneweis and cash considerations from the New York Mets on Friday exchange for right-handed pitcher Connor Robertson. The Mets have been reshaping their bullpen in the last few days, first signing former Angels reliever Francisco Rodriguez, who set the major league record with 62 saves in 2008, and then acquiring J.J. Putz from the Seattle Mariners in a three-team trade with Cleveland. The 35-year-old Schoeneweis went 2-6 with a 3.34 ERA with one save in 73 games last season. He limited lefty hitters to a .178 average. Over parts of 10 major league seasons, Schoeneweis is 45-55 with a 4.91 ERA and nine saves in 517 games playing for the Angels, White Sox, Blue Jays, Reds and Mets. "We feel that Scott will help balance our bullpen," said Diamondbacks general manager Josh Byrnes. "Given his success against left-handed hitters over the last several seasons, he provides us another weapon late in games." The 27-year-old Robertson appeared in nine games for Arizona last season, going 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA.
