Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Chris Capuano was non-tendered Friday, making him a free agent. Capuano missed all of 2008 after undergoing ligament replacement surgery, more commonly known as "Tommy John" surgery. He posted a 5-12 record with a 5.10 earned run average in 2007 and was selected to the All-Star game in 2006, when he went 11-12 with a 4.03 ERA. In five seasons with the Brewers and Diamondbacks, Capuano is 42-48 with a 4.39 ERA in 124 games, including 116 starts. Midnight on Friday is the deadline for teams to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players with 3-to-6 years of service time. Also qualifying for arbitration are "Super-Two" players, which are players who have between 2-to-3 years of service time, 86 days of service in the previous season and rank in the top 17 percent of total service time among players with between 2-to-3 years of service time.
