Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The 22nd annual My Sportsbook Football Championship Subdivision awards presentation from Chattanooga, TN will be streamed live on the Internet for the first time, Thursday night at 7 p.m. from the Chattanooga Marriott.
The streaming video will be available for viewing via a link with the Appalachian My Sportsbook on sportsnetwork.com.
The highlight of the night will be the presentation of the Walter Payton Award, which goes annually to the top player in FCS. Western Illinois running back Herb Donaldson, Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards and James Madison quarterback Rodney Landers are the three finalists for the Payton Award.
The winners of the Eddie Robinson Award for the top coach in FCS and the Buck Buchanan Award, which goes to the top defensive player in FCS, will also be announced during the ceremony.
The Walter Payton Award, named after the former Jackson State and Chicago Bears star running back, was established in 1987 and previous winners of the honor include current NFL players such as the Dallas Cowboys' Tony Romo (2002, Eastern Illinois) and Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook (2001, Villanova), and former Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair (1994, Alcorn State).
The Eddie Robinson Award was established in 1987 and is named for the legendary Grambling coach. Past winners include Jim Tressel (formerly at Youngstown State and now at Ohio State), Paul Johnson (ex-Georgia Southern coach, now at Georgia Tech), Houston Nutt (ex-Murray State coach, now at Ole Miss), Erk Russell of Georgia Southern and Jerry Moore of Appalachian State.
The Buck Buchanan Award, named for the ex-Grambling and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, was established in 1995 by The My Sportsbook. Past winners of the honor include current NFL standouts such as Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen (2003, Idaho State), Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis (2002, Bethune-Cookman), along with former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl linebacker Dexter Coakley (1995-96, Appalachian State).
