Huntington, WV (My Sportsbook) - Marshall quarterback Byron Leftwich did not play in Tuesday's game against Miami-Ohio, but Stan Hill filled in admirably and scored the winning touchdown in a 36-34 victory. Leftwich, a Heisman Trophy candidate, sat out with a sore left shin. He was hurt in a 34-20 loss at Akron on November 2 and was on the sideline Tuesday on crutches. Hill, making his first career start, finished 25-of-39 passing for 292 yards with four touchdown tosses and added 33 yards rushing, including the winning one-yard score with five seconds to play. The victory moved the Thundering Herd one-half game ahead of the RedHawks in the Mid-American East Division. Leftwich leads the nation in total offense, averaging 375.5 yards a game, and has tossed 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
