Phoenix Suns have acquired shooting guard Jason Richardson. forward Jared Dudley and a 2010 second-round draft choice from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for shooting guard Raja Bell, forward Boris Diaw and rookie point guard Sean Singletary.
The 6-foot-6 Richardson, who was the Bobcats' leading scorer averaging 18,7 points per game, while also averaging 4.1 rebounds per contest, brings the outside shooting presence to the Suns that they have desperately needed, as Richardson is shooting 46 percent from three-point range.
"We're really thankful for everything Raja and Boris have done for us over the years, as well as, Sean this year, but we just felt like our team needed some change," Suns president of basketball operations and general manager Steve Kerr said. "We're excited to add a 20-point scorer at the two guard."
The Suns also acquired Dudley, who, in his second season out of Boston College, is averaging 5.4 points and three rebounds per game, while shooting 37.5 percent from outside the arc this season.
In exchange for Richardson and Dudley, the Bobcats receive a player in Bell that has averaged 9.6 points and 32.4 minutes per game, while starting in all 22 of the Suns games this season.
Diaw, who has played in all 22 games this year coming off the bench, has averaged 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, slightly below his career averages of 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Singletary, in his first year in the NBA, has averaged 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game, while playing an average of 9.4 minutes in 13 appearances, including one start.
