New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Connecticut was once again selected the unanimous choice as the top-ranked women's
basketball team, according to the latest Associated Press poll released on Monday.
The Huskies (6-0) received all 45 first-place votes and a total of 1,125 points from a nationwide media panel to earn a unanimous selection for the third time in the past four weeks.
North Carolina (9-0) kept the second slot for the third straight week and was followed by Stanford, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Notre Dame, California and Baylor.
Cal took a big tumble from third to ninth after losing to TCU, forcing the Cardinal, Aggies and Sooners up one spot from a week ago. Texas moved up from nine after dispatching Ole Miss and the Irish climbed up from 11 after wins over Eastern Michigan and Purdue.
The second 10 consist of Duke, Louisville, Auburn, Rutgers, Maryland, Pitt, Virginia, Ohio State, TCU and Vanderbilt. Maryland fell all the way from eighth place while the Panthers saw the greatest rise of the bunch from 24 to 16.
Purdue, Arizona State, Florida, Oklahoma State and Kansas State round out the rankings. The Gators and Wildcats cracked the top 25 in place of Michigan State and Xavier.
