Eindhoven, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - If PSV Eindhoven is to claim a fifth successive Eredivisie title, the club must turn around a slow start to the season that has seen them drop four of their last eight games in league play.
The indifferent start to the campaign has left PSV in sixth place, seven points back of league-leaders AZ Alkmaar, and with just one win in their last six games in all competitions, it is time for Huub Stevens' men to put together a few wins.
It looked like PSV was headed for its sixth loss in league play last weekend when the club was facing a two-goal deficit with nine minutes to play, however the team rallied with goals from Danny Koevermans and Stefan Nijland to snatch a point, giving Stevens reason to be positive.
"When we were two goals down, it was all or nothing," Stevens said. "I am delighted with my team's second-half response. We have shown great resilience and character."
Resilience and character will only help a team so much, but a win on Saturday over Groningen would vault PSV at least back into the top five.
Groningen has also been lacking in form with three losses in its last five league games, and manager Ron Jans will be facing a number of injury issues as well.
The boss will be without first-choice goalkeeper Luciano, while Sepp de Roover (groin), Jeroen Veldmate (knee), Evgeniy Levchenko (knee) and Koen van de Laak (calf) will also miss the contest.
AZ is unbeaten in its last 11 league games after losing two straight to start the season, and the club takes that mark into a Saturday contest with Heracles, while second-place Ajax travels to last-place Volendam on Sunday.
Third-place NAC will be hoping for three points with a home contest against Den Haag and fourth-place Twente will also be at home against Sparta.
