Metairie, LA (My Sportsbook) - The New Orleans Saints placed veteran safety Kevin Kaesviharn on the reserve/injured list Thursday with a neck injury, effectively ending his season. Head coach Sean Payton described the injury as a stinger and said it was the second time this season Kaesviharn had suffered such an injury. Kaesviharn, who spent his first six NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, had two interceptions and 60 tackles in 11 games this season for New Orleans in this his second season with the organization. He also missed a Week 6 win against Oakland due to injury. The eighth-year pro signed a four-year deal with the Saints prior to last season and became a full-time starter this season, having appeared in all 16 games in 2007 with three starts. In 114 career NFL games with 58 starts, Kaesviharn has 17 interceptions, six sacks and 463 tackles. In a related roster move, New Orleans signed defensive end Tearrius George off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.
