New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Connecticut is again a unanimous choice as the top-ranked women's
basketball team, according to the latest Associated Press poll.
The Huskies (5-0) received all 45 first-place votes and a total of 1,125 points from a nationwide media panel to earn a unanimous selection for the second time in the past three weeks. Last week, North Carolina notched one first-place vote.
North Carolina (8-0), despite losing the No. 1 tally, kept the second slot for the second straight week and was followed by California, Stanford, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland, Texas and Baylor.
Stanford moved up a spot from fifth, while Texas A&M jumped three places from eighth and Oklahoma fell two spots from fourth. Baylor dropped four spots from sixth to 10th.
The second 10 consists of Notre Dame, Duke, Louisville, Auburn, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Virginia. Louisville had the biggest fall of the week, tumbling six spots from seventh after a loss to Nevada.
Michigan State, TCU, Xavier, Pittsburgh and Arizona State are the last five teams ranked. Pittsburgh is the lone newcomer, replacing Iowa State.
