Storrs, CT (My Sportsbook) - Renee Montgomery scored a career-high 30 points and equaled the Connecticut record with 13 assists, as the top-ranked Huskies blasted the fourth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in a 106-78 rout. Maya Moore added 27 points and 12 rebounds for UConn (5-0), which dominated by shooting 54.5 percent and limiting the Sooners (4-2) to 38.8 percent. Tina Charles had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Huskies, while Caroline Doty also scored 18 in the win. Danielle Robinson scored 19, and Ashley Paris ended with 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Sooners. Courtney Paris totaled 14 points and 14 rebounds. The Huskies used a 19-5 run to grab a 35-21 first-half lead and they were up 50-39 at the break. Although the Sooners were within single digits early in the second half, UConn pulled away over the final 10 minutes. |
