Sacramento, CA (My Sportsbook) - Vince Carter scored 25 points but was carried off the court midway through overtime with a leg injury after chasing down a loose ball, and the New Jersey Nets outlasted the Sacramento Kings, 116-114.

Brook Lopez added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Nets, who have won three of four. Devin Harris chipped in 18 points and seven assists, while Keyon Dooling gave 17 and four.

John Salmons had 38 points and seven boards for the Kings, who have lost four in a row and seven of eight overall. Brad Miller gave 20 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, and Beno Udrih ended with 16 points and 10 helpers. Spencer Hawes and Bobby Jackson had 15 and 12 points, respectively.

A Carter free throw off a Miller technical foul tied the game at 110 with 2:39 left in the extra frame. Carter was then carried off the court after hurting his knee.

Miller countered with a hook shot at the other end and, following a Lopez missed jumper, Bobby Simmons fouled Salmons who hit 1-of-2 to make it 113-110 with 43.8 showing on the scoreboard.

Dooling, though, drained a three from the right wing to knot it up on New Jersey's next possession.

Miller then drove the lane, but was fouled with 19.3 ticks left and hit 1- of-2 at the line to give the Kings a one-point lead.

Harris nailed a turnaround baseline jumper to give the Garden Staters the lead.

With 11.3 seconds left, the Kings inbounded the ball and Jackson was forced to take a three from the right corner, which was tipped and resulted in an airball. Jarvis Hayes grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 2.9 seconds showing, which effectively sealed the deal.

The Nets led 29-23 after the first quarter, and went up 56-45 at the intermission.

The Kings fell behind by 17, but Miller nailed a three then a layup and Salmons notched a three-point play to make it 68-59 with a shade over seven minutes showing in the third.

Yi Jianlian interjected with a finger roll, but Sacramento answered with eight straight points. Miller's tip-in sparked the surge and his jumper closed it out with 4:57 left to bring the home team within 70-67.

The Nets were up 82-77 heading into the final frame thanks to a pair of late free throws from Harris.

Salmons nailed a three to open the fourth quarter, but Dooling answered with a reverse layup.

Udrih chipped in a reverse layup of his own and Jackson drained a three- pointer to give the Kings an 85-84 lead with 9:52 left in the game.

The teams traded baskets and the score was even with 3:36 left. Miller then sunk a three on Sacramento's next possession and the Kings assumed a 99-96 lead.

Jackson then swiped the ball from Lopez, which led to a Salmons jumper that gave the Kings a royal 101-96 lead with 2:18 remaining.

The Nets managed to get as close as 101-97 on a Harris free throw, but the Kings made it a six-point game as Udrih poured in a layup with 34.7 ticks left.

Jackson was whistled for a technical foul on New Jersey's ensuing inbounds pass and Carter hit the free throw. As the Nets retained possession due to the foul, Simmons was fouled attempting a three and went 2-for-3 to make it 103-100 with 26.7 seconds showing.

Dooling immediately fouled Salmons, who only hit one, and it was a four- point game.

The Nets came down and got a quick layup from Harris.

With 16.5 left, Salmons again was fouled and again only hit 1-of-2.

Down by three, New Jersey drove down and Harris hit a trey with 7.1 ticks left to tie it up at 105-105.

Sacramento was unable to score on the final play and the teams headed for overtime.

Game Notes

The Nets snapped a nine-game skid in Sacramento...New Jersey was without center Josh Boone (bruised left ankle) and forward Eduardo Najera (strained lower back)...The Kings continued to play without star guard Kevin Martin (ankle)...The Kings outrebounded the Nets, 49-40.
