(My Sportsbook) - The New Jersey Nets aim to avoid their second loss in as many nights in California when they face the struggling Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena. The Nets also will be attempting to snap a nine-game skid in Sacramento during the second stop of a four-game west coast trip. The Nets were routed by the LA Lakers Tuesday when Pau Gasol scored 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Lakers overcame a rough offensive night from Kobe Bryant to beat New Jersey, 120-93, at Staples Center. Devin Harris scored 21 for the Nets, who had a two-game win streak broken. Vince Carter was limited to 14 points while Brook Lopez totaled 17 points and 10 boards in defeat. New Jersey, which will likely be without center Josh Boone (bruised left ankle) and forward Eduardo Najera (strained lower back) tonight, will finish the trip with visits to Utah and Phoenix. The Kings lost their third straight game Monday when Portland's Brandon Roy scored a season-high and game-best 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting, and the Blazers held their breath as John Salmons' left leaning scoop shot in the final seconds hit the back rim and Portland held on for a 91-90 victory at the Rose Garden. Salmons led the Kings with 20 points, Brad Miller added 18 points and six boards and Beno Udrih donated 17 points and eight assists for the Kings, who continue to play without star guard Kevin Martin (ankle).
