Oklahoma City, OK (My Sportsbook) - Matt Barnes' three-pointer with 21 seconds remaining gave the Phoenix Suns a 99-98 come-from-behind victory that sent Oklahoma City to a heart-breaking 12th straight loss.

Steve Nash had 12 of his 20 points in the pivotal fourth quarter while handing out a game-high 15 assists and grabbing eight rebounds. Amare Stoudemire had 22 points for Phoenix, which has won two straight on the heels of a two-game losing streak.

Barnes finished with 16 points and hit 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Kevin Durant dropped a game-high 29 points while Chris Wilcox had 18 off the bench for Oklahoma City, which started the Scott Brooks era with a 109-97 loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday.

Brooks was named interim head coach prior to Saturday's game after P.J. Carlesimo was fired earlier in the day following an abysmal 1-12 start to the Thunder's inaugural season.

Five players finished in double figures in a tough loss for the Thunder, who posted their only win on November 2 versus Minnesota and have dropped seven in a row at home in addition to their 12-game losing streak overall.

After Oklahoma City started the final frame with an 81-70 lead, the Suns made an 11-0 run through the middle of the quarter, started by a Nash three-pointer and capped by a Boris Diaw dunk to pull within one at 86-85. The teams traded field goals in a tight game over the next several minutes until Durant made a three-pointer with just about two minutes remaining for a six-point lead.

However, Nash drove to the hoop for two and after a Stoudemire block on the other end, Nash drained a three to pull back within one with 1:17 left to play.

Russell Westbrook hit 1-of-2 free throws and Nash raced down the court before sinking a fadeaway jumper with 48.5 seconds left to tie the game. Wilcox banked one in on the other end to regain the lead, but Barnes came back with a dagger and drained a three with 21 seconds left to take a 99-98 lead.

Durant's miss on the other end saw a mad scramble for the ball. Westbrook grabbed the rebound but his shot clanked off the rim and the ball was tipped by an Oklahoma City player out of bounds with 8.4 seconds left. The Thunder attempted to foul off the in-bounds pass but the Suns played keep-away with the rock and were able to run out the clock without going to the line.

Phoenix held a slim 26-25 lead after one quarter but the Thunder came back by scoring the first six points of the second and put together a 15-2 run late in the quarter to go up 54-41 at the half. The Suns continued their comeback, edging the Thunder 29-27 in the third and Stoudemire capped the quarter with a three-pointer.

Game Notes

Phoenix went 4-0 against Seattle/Oklahoma City last season and has won six straight and 12 of the past 16 matchups. The Suns are 7-2 in the past nine meetings as the visitor in this series and 6-2 as the visitor this season with a visit to Minnesota next on the schedule to end a short two-game road trip...The Thunder next play Wednesday at Cleveland...Westbrook (15), Jeff Green (13) and Damien Wilkins (10) all finished in double figures for Oklahoma City...The Thunder's Earl Watson had 13 assists...Diaw and Robin Lopez each logged 11 points for the Suns.
