(My Sportsbook) - The
Los Angeles Kings will try to get back on the winning track tonight, when they visit the Anaheim Ducks for a battle with their Pacific Division rivals at the Honda Center.
The Kings had won a season-high four games before dropping a home test to Nashville on Saturday. J.P. Dumont scored the go-ahead goal on the power play with 2:28 remaining in the third period, boosting the Predators to the 3-1 win at the Staples Center.
Michal Handzus had the lone goal for the Kings, while Erik Ersberg made 19 saves.
The Kings have played just four road games so far this season and are 2-2-0 in those outings.
The Ducks, meanwhile, have lost three straight, but were able to secure a point in the most recent setback, as they dropped a 4-3 overtime decision Friday night to visiting Nashville.
Dan Hamhuis scored with 2:43 remaining in the extra session to help the Predators earn a rare road win in Anaheim. J.P. Dumont, Ryan Jones and Joel Ward also scored for the Predators, who snapped a six-game losing streak at the Honda Center.
Ryan Getzlaf registered a goal and an assist, while Teemu Selanne, appearing in his 600th career game as a Duck, recorded three assists for Anaheim, which fell to 1-2-1 on its season-long six-game residency.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed four goals on 35 shots in defeat and is now 7-6-1 on the season. Giguere is 17-11-4 against the Kings in his career.
The Ducks are just 4-5-2 as the host team this year and will complete this homestand Wednesday night against Washington.
Anaheim and LA are playing the third of six meetings with each other this season. The Ducks have won three of four and seven of the last nine encounters and the Kings have dropped three straight in Orange County.
