Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - Antero Niittymaki remained perfect against Atlanta as he made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season and the Philadelphia Flyers continued their domination of the Thrashers with a 7-0 win at Philips Arena.

Niittymaki is now 10-0-0 in his career against Atlanta and posted his fourth career shutout for the Flyers, who have won their past 11 games against Atlanta and have not lost to the Thrashers since a 6-5 overtime setback on November 18, 2005.

Simon Gagne had two goals and two assists while Mike Knuble and Joffrey Lupul each scored twice for Philadelphia, which has now won three straight after dropping its first six games of the season.

"We got great results today," said Knuble. "We scored every kind of way. It was good, a lot of fun tonight. It's kind of another good stress breaker for the team. We had a tough go at the beginning, but we followed it up with these good wins."

Kari Lehtonen fell to 0-7-0 lifetime against Philadelphia as he was lit up for all seven goals on 31 shots for the Thrashers, who have dropped their last four games.

"We weren't ready and from the start we didn't have the effort we wanted," said Atlanta forward Colby Armstrong. "There were a couple of good bounces for them, but at the same time, the game was there for us. After they got up a few, we just kind of folded the tent."

Philly got on the board just 80 second into the game as Lupul picked up a turnover in the slot and fired a long-range wrister past Lehtonen.

Niittymaki made six saves in the frame to keep Atlanta off the board.

The Flyers took a 2-0 lead early in the second period. Glen Metropolit, playing against his former team, let fly with a wrister from the left circle that Lehtonen stopped, but Knuble was on the right doorstep and stuffed home the rebound at the 3:13 mark of the frame.

Philadelphia made it a 3-0 game with just 14.4 left in the second. While shorthanded, Mike Richards broke up a pass near his blueline and skated down the other end with Gagne. From the slot, Richards dished the puck over the stick of the defender to Gagne, who quickly snapped the puck into the left corner of the net.

Niittymaki was strong in the second period and made several big stops and helped the Flyers kill off two power plays in the frame while making nine stops to keep the shutout bid going.

Philly scored twice in a 37-second span in the third to put a stranglehold on the game.

Skating on the power play, Jeff Carter fired a pass from the low left side over to the right side of the net for Gagne, who sent the puck out front where it hit off of Knuble's skate and then off the skate of an Atlanta defender before going in the net at the 1:02 mark.

Moments later, Braydon Coburn blasted a shot from the high slot that was stopped, but Lupul banged home the rebound from the right side.

With a bit over 12 minutes to play, Luca Sbisa fired a shot from the top of the right circle that hit off of Gagne's skate in front and went past Lehtonen for a 6-0 advantage.

Metropolit's goal with 2:40 to play accounted for the final score.
