Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Buffalo Sabres placed forward Paul Gaustad on injured reserve Wednesday. The move was expected in order to set the Sabres' final 23-man roster. Gaustad is expected to miss the next three to four weeks after undergoing surgery last week to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. The 26-year-old North Dakota native has played in parts of four seasons with the Sabres, tallying career-highs with 10 goals and 36 points in 82 games last season. In 215 career games, Gaustad has 28 goals and 82 points, all with the Buffalo organization.
