Verona, NY (My Sportsbook) - Dustin Johnson birdied each of the last two holes Sunday to close out a round of three-under 69, which gave him his first PGA Tour title at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Johnson completed his first tour crown at nine-under-par 279.

"It's kind of hard to explain. I haven't quite grasped everything yet," Johnson said of his first win. "Right now I'm feeling pretty good and I'm obviously very, very excited."

He entered the event 128th on the money list and soars into the top 50 on that list with the victory. Not only does his move on the money list secure him his PGA Tour card for next year, but the title means he has his PGA Tour card for the next two years.

"I'll probably have to sit down Monday or Tuesday and re-evaluate my goals because I think I've accomplished most of them third year," said Johnson, who collected $1.08 million for the win.

Robert Allenby, whose last PGA Tour win came in 2001, owned at least a piece of the lead for nearly the entire final round, but a bogey on the 16th left him at minus-eight.

Allenby parred the final two holes to close a two-under 70 left him one shot back at eight-under-par 280 at Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort.

Charles Howell III, who shared the lead entering the final round, stumbled to a one-over 73 to slide into a tie for third at minus-seven. He was joined there by Woody Austin (69), Davis Love III (70), Mathew Goggin (69), Ryuji Imada (69), Robert Garrigus (69) and Steve Allan (69).

Johnson started the final round two shots out of the lead. He got going with five straight pars before a birdie on the sixth. Johnson moved to minus-eight with a birdie on the par-five eighth.

However, Johnson stumbled to a bogey at nine. He recovered that stroke with a birdie at 12, but gave that shot right back as he tripped to a bogey at 13.

Johnson rolled in a six-foot birdie putt on the 17th to grab a share of the lead at minus-eight. He came right back with an up-and-down birdie on the par- five 18th to collect his first PGA Tour crown.

"There was still golf to be played," said Johnson, who played three groups ahead of the final pairing. "There was still a few guys out there who could catch me, I was just sitting there watching and seeing what they would do."

Allenby, who has won several times worldwide since his last PGA Tour win, got off to a hot start. After a birdie on two, he came right back with a birdie on the third that gave him a piece of the lead at minus-eight.

The Australian kicked in a four-foot birdie putt on the fifth to take the lead at minus-nine. He ran off nine straight pars from the sixth.

Allenby hit his drive to the tree line right of the 15th fairway. He pitched his second into a fairway bunker before knocking his third to nine feet.

However, he missed the par-saving putt. Allenby needed another birdie to force a playoff, but only managed three two-putt pars to close out his round.

"I guess you can look at my putter today and say I left everything short," said Allenby, whose birdie putt at the last came up inches short of the hole. "(Saturday) I probably had the worst putting round of my life. I lost my nerve yesterday with the putter. I tried to regain it, but I just fell shy."

Joe Ogilvie, Pat Perez, Nick O'Hern, Charles Warren and Jeff Overton tied for 10th at six-under-par 282.

Tag Ridings, who shared the lead with Howell entering the final round, struggled to a seven-over 79 that left him tied for 27th at minus-one.
