Groningen, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Groningen maintained its unbeaten record in the Eredivisie on Sunday as the club recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Den Haag to return to the top of the table. Petter Andersson and Evgeniy Levchenko scored goals inside of 25 minutes, and Marcus Berg added a third in the second half, leaving Den Haag with just one point from its last three games. Groningen took control of the game from the start as they missed a few good chances before finally taking the lead. Berg's header off the crossbar was the best opportunity in the first 10 minutes, but Andersson was able to head home a Koen Van de Laak cross shortly after to make it 1-0. A set piece produced the team's second goal as Sepp De Roover's free-kick was played into the box and flicked past three defenders by the head of Levchenko before finding the back of the net. The result was well in hand as Den Haag failed to threaten the Groningen net, and Berg added a third goal as he took a cross from Van der Laak and volleyed it inside the near post to put the game away. Heerenveen moved to fourth in the table with a convincing 5-2 win over Ajax behind two goals from Danijel Pranjic. The Amsterdam side fell behind 4-0 through 63 minutes, and although they scored twice in a three-minute span, they were never really in the match and now sit in 10th place with just seven points from five games. Volendam suffered its fifth successive loss on Sunday as Matthew Amoah scored a pair of goals in a 4-2 NAC win, Utrecht handed Twente its first defeat of the season in 3-0 fashion and Feyenoord's poor start to the season continued as they were hit with their third loss in five games, a 2-0 defeat to NEC.
