Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - The University of Missouri-Kansas City has given men's basketball coach Matt Brown a contract extension through the 2012-13 season. Brown is entering his second season with the Kangaroos, who posted a record of 11-21 last year. "It is with confidence and enthusiasm that we make this announcement," said UMKC athletic director Tim Hall. "Matt Brown is conducting his program in a first class manner -- in all areas. He is laying the foundation for future success for UMKC men's basketball and the more broad athletics department. Building a strong foundation takes time and I wanted to assure Matt, his staff and future recruits that we are committed to building something long enduring."
