(My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Twins hope to move into sole possession of first place in the AL Central this afternoon when they go for the sweep of the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

Minnesota swept both games of a doubleheader from the O's on Saturday, winning the first game 12-2, before claiming a 12-6 victory in the nightcap. With Chicago's scheduled double dip against the Detroit Tigers rained out, the Twins moved into a virtual tie with the White Sox atop the division.

The Twins have also now won eight straight at Camden Yards.

Carlos Gomez knocked in six runs in the twinbill, while Denard Span had two homers and five RBI. Justin Morneau also drove in four on the day to tie him with Texas Josh Hamilton for the AL lead in RBI (124).

Minnesota won for the fourth time in five games, while Baltimore has dropped four of its past five contests.

Getting the call for the Twins today will be right-hander Nick Blackburn, who is 10-8 with a 3.67 ERA. Blackburn picked up the win on Tuesday against Kansas City, as he allowed a pair of runs and five hits in seven innings.

Blackburn has never faced the Orioles.

Baltimore will counter with righty Radhames Liz, who is 5-5 with a 7.75 ERA. Liz lost for the third time in his last four decisions on Tuesday against Cleveland, yielding four runs (three earned) and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Liz defeated the Twins the last time he faced them and is 1-1 lifetime against them with a 5.56 ERA in two starts.

Baltimore took two of three games from Minnesota at the Metrodome earlier this season, but the Twins won all seven meetings between the clubs in 2007. Since the start of the 2006 campaign, Minnesota is 16-5 overall against the Orioles and 10-2 at Camden Yards.
