San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - Adrian Gonzalez blasted two home runs to help the San Diego Padres beat the San Francisco Giants, 11-3, in the first of four games at PETCO Park.

The Padres' first baseman finished the game 3-for-4 with four runs batted in, and Edgar Gonzalez, Drew Macias and Brian Giles each drove in two runs to help the Padres end a two-game losing streak.

Josh Geer (2-0) allowed just two runs on nine hits in seven innings to get the win.

Matt Cain (8-12) had his shortest outing of the year, lasting just 3 1/3 innings and allowing six runs on nine hits.

"He was just off tonight, it was evident in the first inning," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "He had trouble getting the ball where he wanted."

Rich Aurilia and Eugenio Velez each had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run for San Francisco, which snapped a five-game winning streak.

The Giants put a run on the board in the first. Nate Schierholtz hit a one-out single, moved to second on a Pablo Sandoval hit and scored on Aurilia's RBI single.

The Padres answered with five runs in the home first. Will Venable hit a leadoff double, and Luis Rodriguez put runners on the corners with a bunt single. Giles tied the game with an RBI single, and Adrian Gonzalez made it 4-1 with a three-run blast to right, his 30th of the season.

Three batters later Nick Hundley hit a two-out single and scored on Matt Antonelli's RBI double to left.

In the third, Macias launched his first career homer off Cain to give the Padres a 6-1 lead.

Velez hit an RBI triple in the sixth, scoring Aurilia, to cut the Giants' deficit to four.

Gonzalez blasted his second home run of the game in the seventh off Pat Misch to make it a 7-2 game. Edgar Gonzalez hit a two-run homer in the eighth to give the Padres an eight-run lead, and Giles and Macias each added RBI hits later in the inning for a commanding 11-2 lead.

Dave Roberts hit an RBI groundout in the ninth to cap the scoring at 11-3.

Game Notes

Despite the loss, the Giants lead the season series 10-5....The Padres claimed pitchers Charlie Haeger and Scott Patterson from the White Sox and Yankees, respectively. Haeger will report to the Padres Friday. The team also transferred Michael Barrett to the 60-day disabled list...Adrian and Edgar Gonzalez are the first pair of brothers to homer in the same game as teammates since Wilton and Vladimir Guerrero accomplished the feat for the Montreal Expos on September 18, 2000 against the Florida Marlins.
