Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds recalled pitcher Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Louisville on Saturday, enabling the right-hander to make his major league debut against the San Francisco Giants. Ramirez replaced Johnny Cueto, who was scratched with a strained right elbow. The 25-year-old Ramirez was 2-3 with a 4.70 earned run average in nine starts and two relief appearances for Double-A Chattanooga before he was promoted to Louisville on May 25. In 19 games (15 starts) for Louisville, he went 4-5 with a 3.08 ERA, including a sterling 1.38 ERA in his last five starts. Ramirez pitched to a no-decision in the Reds' 7-6 win over the Giants, as the starter allowed three runs on five hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts in his six innings on the mound. In a corresponding move, the Reds optioned infielder Adam Rosales to Louisville.
