Pebble Beach, CA (My Sportsbook) - Andy Bean carded a six-under 66 at Pebble Beach on Friday to grab a share of the lead during the suspended first round of the Wal-Mart First Tee Open.

Bean's four co-leaders all played the tournament's second course, Del Monte Golf Course. Bean shares the lead with Champions Tour all-time wins leader Hale Irwin, Fuzzy Zoeller, Loren Roberts and Chip Beck.

There were three separate delays at Pebble Beach on Friday, and eventually the round was halted for the night at 9:13 p.m. (et). Nineteen players will resume their first round Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Second-round tee times will be delayed one-hour, 45-minutes on Del Monte and 30 minutes at Pebble Beach.

Fred Funk, Phil Blackmar and Steve Thomas all played Del Monte and share sixth place at minus-five.

Bean played the back nine first at Pebble Beach. He posted just two birdies, on 13 and 18, through nine holes. He dropped in an eagle on the second to move to minus-four.

After a bogey at the par-three fifth, Bean birdied three of his last four holes to claim his share of the lead.

Irwin, who won this event in 2005 and finished second last year, started on Del Monte's 10th tee. He birdied three straight from the 11th, then parred his next nine holes. Irwin birdied No. 5 and closed with birdies at eight and nine.

Zoeller also started on Del Monte's back nine. He birdied 10, 11 and 13, but in between tripped to a bogey on the 12th. After a birdie on 17, Zoeller birdied the first and second to get to five-under. He birdied the eighth to grab his share of first place.

Roberts birdied the 10th and 11th at Del Monte to start his round. He turned in minus-three thanks to a birdie at the 18th.

On the front side, Roberts birdied No. 2 and followed with birdies at five and six to grab a piece of the lead. He parred his final three holes to close out a bogey-free round.

Beck birdied three of the first five holes on Del Monte's front nine. After he stumbled to a bogey on the 12th, he birdied four of his last six holes to join the four others in the lead.

Jay Haas, a two-time runner-up here, carded a four-under 68 at Del Monte. He shares ninth with Joey Sindelar, Tom Kite and Mark McNulty, who, with Bean, are the only two players in the top 12 that played at Pebble Beach on Friday.

Six more players are tied for 13th at minus-three.

The top player on the leaderboard to not complete his round was Jim Thorpe, who stood at two-under par through 10 holes of his opening round.

Defending champion Gil Morgan struggled to a four-over-par 76 and is tied for 68th place.
