San Francisco, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres called up Dirk Hayhurst from Triple-A Portland to start against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. In his major league debut, he went four innings and gave up three runs on five hits while striking out two and walking two. He did not factor into the decision as the Padres lost their sixth straight, 4-3. Hayhurst, 27, had a 2-3 record with a 3.75 earned run average for Portland in 46 appearances, including two starts. He posted 98 strikeouts in only 84 innings pitched. In a related move, the team optioned infielder Brian Myrow to Portland. Myrow posted three hits in 21 at-bats for San Diego with a homer and three runs batted in.
