Beijing, China (My Sportsbook) - Aksana Miankova of Belarus won gold in the women's hammer throw Wednesday at the Beijing Olympics, setting an Olympic record in the process. Miankova turned in the winning throw of 76.34 meters on her fifth out of six attempts. She broke the record set by Russia's Olga Kuzenkova at the 2004 Athens Games. Cuba's Yipsi Moreno earned the silver medal with a toss of 75.20m and China's Zhang Wenxiu thrilled the home crowd with a bronze medal finish.
