Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Celtic have parted company with Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen, who still had another 12 months of his contract to run at Parkhead. The 32-year-old joined the Bhoys from Real Madrid in the summer of 2006, but quickly fell out of favor under boss Gordon Strachan, who felt that Gravesen did not fit into his team plans. A statement from the SPL champions confirmed: "Celtic Football Club, Thomas Gravesen and Thomas' representatives have agreed that he will part company with the club. "Thomas wishes Celtic every success and, likewise, the club wishes Thomas all the very best for the future." Gravesen scored six times in 33 appearances for Celtic and spent the whole of last season on loan at one of his former clubs, Everton. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
