Rochester, NY (My Sportsbook) - Brendon De Jonge of Zimbabwe shot a three- under 67 on Saturday to increase his lead at the Xerox Classic at Irondequoit Country Club.

Through 54 holes, De Jonge stands at 12-under 198 and is three ahead of Jonathan Fricke and Greg Owen. Fricke fired an impressive seven-under 63 on Saturday, while Owen shot a three-under 67.

Leading money winner Jarrod Lyle finds himself alone in fourth. He is four back of the leader. Alex Prugh and David Hearn share fifth place, five behind De Jonge.

Prugh, a rookie on the Tour this year, has now posted sub-par scores in 12 of his last 13 rounds.

The highlight of the day came from De Jonge on the par-four 18th. De Jonge's second shot on the 478-yard up-hill par-four hit the right side of the green and bounced down a hill and settled against the grandstands. After getting a drop, De Jonge faced a tricky uphill shot. His chip landed about 10 feet short of the hole, but had the perfect speed and it rolled into the hole.

"I dropped it into a good lie where I did," said De Jonge. "I didn't have too many options...Honestly I was thinking to try to get it about 10 feet past the hole and make that putt for par."

De Jonge's only other birdie on the back-nine came at the par-four 12th. After his tee shot skipped over the bunker and onto the green, De Jonge failed to capitalize on a long eagle attempt. But he tapped in for birdie.

The 28-year-old De Jonge had a slow start to his day. On the par-four first hole, he ended up with a bogey. Despite one more bogey on the seventh, he was solid all day. De Jonge had a total of five birdies on the day.

De Jonge put his tee shot on the par-three sixth hole within five feet of the hole. He easily rolled that in for his second birdie of the day, his first came on the par-five third hole.

The former Virginia Tech standout sunk a eight-foot putt on the par-four eighth for his third birdie.

Fricke had eight birdies on the day, six ranged from 20-30 feet, and carded his second-best round of the season during his march up the leaderboard. Meanwhile, Owen collected four birdies. Both players had just one bogey.

"I put a new putter in play a few weeks ago and since then I have made just about everything I have looked at," said Fricke.

Bob May, who entered the day just two behind De Jonge, had problems finding his stroke on this day. May, who lost the 2000 PGA Championship in a playoff to Tiger Woods, shot a five-over 75 on Saturday.

He had just one birdie on the afternoon to go along with his four bogeys and one double-bogey.

If De Jonge can hold off Fricke and Owen on Sunday, he will collect his first- ever Nationwide Tour victory.
