Sparta, KY (My Sportsbook) - Tony Kanaan and Andretti Green Racing have reached a long-term agreement that will keep the 2004 IndyCar Series champion with the team through 2013. "I'm very happy and relieved to have a deal in place that will keep me with Andretti Green for a long time," Kanaan said. "We've been very good together since the start of 2003, and I believe we can continue to be good for many more years. Team 7-Eleven and AGR is where I belong, and I'm looking forward to another five good years." Kanaan, 33, has been with AGR since the team's inception in 2003. The Brazilian is currently fourth in the championship standings, 118 points behind leader Scott Dixon. He has finished out of the top-four in points only once during his time at AGR. Kanaan has recorded 13 victories in 94 starts. He owns a series-record 63 top- five finishes. "Tony is a very important part of our race team, and we've worked very hard to make sure we could stay together for a long time," AGR co-owner Michael Andretti said. "His accomplishments with Andretti Green are unmatched and he pushes our whole team to be better every time we come to the racetrack. That's a guy you want on your team."
