Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The
Philadelphia 76ers try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive tonight, as they visit the
Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
Philadelphia is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the Boston Celtics for the eighth and final playoff spot.
This is the third and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. The teams have split the two previous contests, as each squad picked up a win on their homecourt.
Philadelphia comes into tonight's game on a two-game losing streak. On Saturday, the 76ers playoff hopes got a bit dimmer, as they found themselves on the wrong end of an 86-75 decision against the New York Knicks at the Wachovia Center. Willie Green scored 14 points and Samuel Dalembert had 13 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high nine blocks for the Sixers.
Dalembert is averaging 15.5 rebounds and 3.8 blocks in his last six games.
The Sixers, who have lost five straight as the visitor, are a dismal 11-27 on the road this season.
Atlanta's season-long woes continued on Sunday with a 106-89 setback to the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena. Stephen Jackson came off the bench to lead all scorers with 31 points, as the Hawks have lost three of their last four games overall. Chris Crawford poured in 22 in the losing effort.
Jackson and point guard Jason Terry were not in the starting lineup against the Nets, as the duo missed a shootaround earlier in the day.
The Hawks are 16-22 at home this season.
Atlanta has won four of the last six contests in this series. The two teams have split the last eight meetings.
