=== Memphis Grizzlies Team Report - April 5 === (My Sportsbook) - The Memphis Grizzlies target their first 50 win season in franchise history this evening when they head to Salt Lake CIty to battle the playoff-hopeful Utah Jazz at the Delta Center. Memphis has already secured its first playoff berth in team history, but comes into tonight's contest on a sour note following Sunday's 90-82 setback to the Minnesota Timberwolves. James Posey led the Grizzlies with 19 points, but it was not enough to extend their winning streak to eight games. Memphis would have equaled its franchise record for consecutive wins, set earlier this season, with a victory in this one. Pau Gasol had 15 points in the losing effort. Memphis is fifth in the West, one game in front of the Dallas Mavericks and 2 1/2 games back of the third place San Antonio Spurs. The Grizzlies, who have won nine of their 13 Monday games this season, have just two losses over their previous nine road tilts and are 19-18 away from home this season. Utah has taken two of three from Memphis this season and could hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won four of five and eight of the last 10 matchups. The Grizzlies have also lost four straight and six of their last seven in Salt Lake City, where they are a dismal 2-15 all-time. |
