Prato Nevoso, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Australian Simon Gerrans won a sprint to the finish line to capture Stage 15 of the Tour de France, while Frank Schleck of Luxembourg wrestled the overall lead from Cadel Evans in cycling's most prestigious event. Gerrans completed the 183-kilometer jaunt from Embrun, France to Prato Nevoso, Italy in a time of four hours, 50 minutes and 44 seconds. Spaniard Egoi Martinez was second, three seconds back, with American Danny Pate finishing third, 10 seconds off the pace. Schleck, who finished ninth on the day, took the yellow jersey from Evans of Australia, who dropped to third overall. Austrian Bernhard Kohl also surpassed Evans and is just seven seconds behind Schleck after Stage 15. Evans is now eight seconds back. Russian Denis Menchov is in fourth while American Christian Vande Velde is fifth in the overall standings. Meanwhile, former champion Oscar Pereiro of Spain was forced to pull out of the Tour after breaking his shoulder in a crash. Pereiro, who won the 2006 Tour after American Floyd Landis was stripped of the title for doping, tumbled over a guard rail on the side of the road during a sharp turn. The riders will stay in Italy for a breather Monday, the second of two rest days in this year's Tour.
