Foix, France (My Sportsbook) - Norway's Kurt-Asle Arvesen used a strong late push to win the 11th stage of the Tour de France on Wednesday, while Cadel Evans was able to keep his overall lead.

Arvesen sprinted to a last-second win over Switzerland's Martin Elmiger and Italian Alessandro Ballan. The three racers jumped away from the pack about three kilometers from the finish line, and Arvesen held on for the win.

The Norweigan racer finished the 167.5-kilometer jaunt from Lannemezan to Foix in the Pyrenees in three hours, 58 minutes, and 13 seconds.

Evans, who is still recovering from a crash in stage nine, holds a one-second lead over Luxemborg's Frank Schleck. Evans and Schleck finished in the same pack Wednesday, just under 15 minutes back of Arvesen.

More doping news kicked off the 11th stage when Spain's Moises Duenas Nevado joined the ranks of riders testing positive for doping, and was kicked out of the race.

The first Australian to hold the yellow jersey, Evans is trailed by Schleck then American Christian Vande Velde, Austria's Bernhard Kohl, and Russia's Denis Menchov.

Vande Velde, Kohl, and Menchov all finished in the pack with Evans and Schleck, 14 minutes and 51 seconds back of Arvesen. Vande Velde is 38 seconds behind Arvese, while Kohl trails by 46 seconds and Menchov trails by 57 seconds.
