Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Notre Dame will reportedly name Indianapolis attorney Jack Swarbrick its new athletic director Wednesday. The Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday that the school had settled on the Notre Dame alum to take over for Kevin White, who left June 1 to take the same job at Duke. A 1976 Notre Dame graduate, Swarbrick has not been an athletic administrator at the collegiate level, though he has been mentioned in discussions for similar openings at Arizona State, Ohio State, and Indiana, and he was a finalist for the NCAA president's position when Myles Brand took that post in 2002. Swarbrick was the vice president of the bid committee that brought the 2012 Super Bowl to Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium, and has used his legal abilities as general counsel for USA Gymnastics and US Rowing.
