Omaha, NE (My Sportsbook) - Ryan Peisel hit a three-run homer and Rich Poythress had four hits and four RBIs as Georgia held on to edge Stanford, 10-8, at Rosenblatt Stadium to advance to the College World Series finals. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed due to rain.

Poythress hit three doubles and scored twice, while Joey Lewis chipped in with two hits and three RBI for Georgia, which will advance to play best-of- three final series on Monday against either North Carolina or Fresno State.

Dan Weaver earned the win for the Bulldogs, tossing 3 2/3 innings. The right- hander gave up three runs on six hits.

Ben Clowe had a pinch-hit three-run homer and Cord Phelps had two hits and drove in a run for Stanford, which was eliminated from postseason play.

Jeremy Bleich suffered the loss after giving up six runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 frames.

Georgia got on the board in the top of second when Poythress got things started with a double down the left field line and came in to score three batters later when Lewis singled to left to give the Bulldogs the early lead, 1-0.

Stanford tried mounting a threat in the home half of the second, putting two on with two outs, but Zach Jones went down on strikes to end the frame.

Georgia added three runs in the third on Poythress RBI double and Lewis' two- run single with two outs.

The Cardinal finally got on the board with Brent Milleville's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded. Stanford loaded the bases again in the inning, but was unable to capitalize on the opportunity when Sean Ratliff flied out to center to end the threat.

Poythress came through again in the top of the fourth, lining a two-run single to center field to give the Bulldogs a 6-1 advantage.

Phelps' RBI triple in the bottom of the fourth and Weaver's wild pitch scored two more for Stanford, cutting the lead to three.

Georgia got a three-run homer from Peisel in the top of the fifth to stretch its lead to 9-3, but the Cardinal got a run back in the bottom of the frame on a RBI single by Joey August.

Poythress' run-scoring double down the right field line in the eighth increased the Bulldogs' lead to 10-4.

Josh Fields struggled to close out the game, as he allowed an run-scoring single to Colin Walsh and a three-run homer to Clowe to cut the lead to 10-8. Fields settled down after the home run, though, and got Phelps to fly out to center to end the game.
