Jarome Iginla posted his 34th goal for the Flames, who had their two-game winning streak snapped and suffered their fourth straight loss in Detroit. Roman Turek stopped 20 shots. Calgary finished 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Red Wings went 1-for-4 with the extra skater. During a scoreless first period, Calgary dominated play with a 12-5 shots advantage. The Red Wings also killed off two power plays. Midway through the second period, Zetterberg put Detroit ahead 1-0 on the power play. Mathieu Schneider fired a shot on goal from the center point. Zetterberg gathered the rebound and scored on a short wrist shot. The Red Wings, who killed off three Calgary power plays in the second, took a 2-0 edge at 8:02 of the third period courtesy of Mowers' goal.
