Brad Stuart and Vincent Damphousse both finished with a goal and two assists for the Sharks, who earned their eighth straight home win and posted their third straight victory overall. Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves in the winning effort. Goals by Sturm and Dimitrakos snapped a 2-2 tie and capped a three-goal flurry in the second for San Jose. Sturm, positioned near the right post, tipped in a pass by Damphousse from behind the net with 5:54 to play in the period. Dimitrakos scored on a one- timer from the left circle 1:01 later. Nabokov then registered 10 saves in the third to secure the victory. The Sharks, who lead the Pacific Division with 83 points, play at Colorado on Friday night. The teams are currently tied for second place in the Western Conference. |
