Tony Amonte chipped in a goal and a pair of assists, as the Flyers put the brakes on a three-game winless streak (1-1-1-1). Alexei Zhamnov had a goal and an assist and Sami Kapanen added an empty-netter for Philadelphia, which has won six of its last eight at home. Zhamnov has three goals and four assists since coming to the Flyers via trade from Chicago. Robert Esche was solid in net with 22 saves on 24 shots as the Flyers did their part in a tight Eastern Conference race. With 86 points, Philly is tied with Tampa Bay atop the standings -- two ahead of Ottawa and Toronto. The Flyers are six points ahead of the reigning-champion New Jersey Devils in the Atlantic Division. Philadelphia wasted no time getting to opposing goaltender Chris Mason, as Johnsson beat the goaltender just 27 seconds into the game. He ended a 12-game goal-less drought with the fastest tally scored by a Flyer this season. The Flyers are 28-1-2 when leading after two periods in 2003-04. Philadelphia will welcome Ottawa to town on Friday for an Eastern Conference showdown.
