La Jolla, CA (My Sportsbook) - Tiger Woods hit his first three shots into the rough and walked off with a double-bogey on his first hole Saturday during the third round of the U.S. Open. Woods, who moved within a shot of Stuart Appleby's 36-hole lead with a spectacular second-nine 30 on Friday, has now played his opening holes at five-over par this week. He opened with a double bogey on No. 1 Thursday -- his first hole of competitive golf since his knee surgery two months ago -- and made a bogey at No. 10 to start his second round Friday. The double-bogey at Torrey Pines' par-four opening hole Saturday afternoon dropped Woods three shots off Appleby's lead. Of course, it could have been worse. Phil Mickelson made a quadruple-bogey nine at the par-five 13th, dropping him 12 shots off the lead and effectively ending his U.S. Open chances.
