Glenview, IL (My Sportsbook) - Skip Kendall braved incredible wind gusts to fire a seven-under 65 and take the lead during the suspended second round of the Bank of America Open.

Kendall finished 36 holes at 11-under 133 and is two clear at The Glen Club.

There were three weather stoppages on Friday and wind gusts reached close to 50 miles per hour. Play was suspended due to darkness with half of the field needing to complete round two.

They will be back in position at 8:30 a.m. (et) Saturday to finish. The third round is expected to begin around 1:00 p.m. with players going off in threesomes off split tees.

"I really didn't think we would start back," Kendall said after the second delay. "I was hitting full six-irons to the first flag on the driving range which is 90 yards."

Kris Blanks shot a two-under 70 and is in the clubhouse at nine-under 135. Overnight leader Kyle Reifers is even through four holes and is nine-under for the championship.

Kendall began on the back nine Friday and collected his first birdie from 12 feet out at the 13th. He made it two in a row with a 10-footer at 14, then closed his first nine with a tap-in birdie at the par-five 18th.

Kendall holed a wedge shot for an eagle at the par-five first. His next birdie came at the next par five, the fifth, when he sank a five-footer. Kendall hit a spectacular hybrid-club shot at the seventh from 220 yards. His ball stopped 12 feet from the stick and he rolled in the birdie putt.

He parred his last two for an amazing 65 in amazing conditions.

"It is a shock to me," acknowledged Kendall, a three-time Nationwide Tour winner "Even if we were playing in calm conditions, I would take 65 around here in a minute. I am thrilled to death. It was tough out there."

Matt Weibring is three-under through 11 holes and is fourth at minus-eight.

J.J. Killeen (68), David McKenzie (71) and Ricky Barnes (70) share fifth at seven-under 137. Brendon Todd is one-under through four and is also at seven- under for the championship.
