London, England (My Sportsbook) - Fulham coach Roy Hodgson has dispensed with the services of eight players following the club's successful battle to avoid relegation to the Championship. Jari Litmanen, Carlos Bocanegra, Philippe Christanval, Simon Elliott, Ian Pearce, Michael Timlin, Ismael Ehui and Bjorn Runstrom have all been told their futures lie away from Craven Cottage. Veteran Finland international Litmanen leaves the club after failing to make a first-team appearance for the club while American defender Bocanegra, who made more than 100 appearances in his four years at Fulham, failed to start a match since mid-January. Injuries restricted Christanval to only 40 appearances in his three seasons with the club while New Zealand midfielder Elliott has not played in the last two campaigns. Veteran defender Pearce failed to feature in the first-team squad since last August and spent a period on loan with Southampton while Timlin, Ehui and Runstrom all failed to make the grade. Meanwhile, Paul Stalteri has returned to Tottenham following the end of his loan spell at the club. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
