Omaha, NE (My Sportsbook) - The NCAA has agreed to keep the College World Series in Omaha through 2030, according to a report in the Omaha World-Herald. The contract extension is expected to be signed prior to the first pitch of this year's College World Series, which starts on June 14. The current five-year CWS contract expires after the 2010 series. Under the new agreement, the 2011 series will be played at a new stadium to be built in the Qwest Center parking lots. Omaha has hosted the College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium since 1950. The agreement was reached after three days of negotiations between the NCAA and College World Series of Omaha, Inc., the local organization that sponsors the event. "This is the first day of the rest of our lives when it comes to the College World Series," Jack Diesing Jr., president of College World Series of Omaha, told the newspaper. "The NCAA does not have any agreements that are five years, let alone the 20-year deal we have."
