Carson, CA (My Sportsbook) - Landon Donovan scored three times and Alan Gordan added two as the Los Angeles Galaxy flew past Chivas USA 5-2 in the SuperClasico - the Los Angeles derby - on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center. Donovan's second career hat-trick gave him a Major League Soccer leading eight goals in five games, matching his output from all of last season. He opened the scoring in the first half when he fired a left-footed blast from just outside the Chivas USA penalty area past goalkeeper Brad Guzan. The Goats answered before the break when midfielder Sacha Kljestan fired a shot upper-90 in the far post, however. Donovan opened the scoring in the second half, just before the hour mark, when he battled past defender Claudio Suarez in the box and slid a shot past Guzan, but Chivas USA veteran Ante Razov answered right back again, this time within five minutes, scoring his 110th career MLS goal to make it 2-2. Then the Galaxy took over, scoring three unanswered goals. After Gordan headed home the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute, Donovan completed the trick two minutes later to give the hosts a two-goal advantage. Gordan added his second goal for good measure, after a tic-tac-toe passing performance from David Beckham, to Donovan, to Gordan for a tap in, six minutes from time. The Galaxy (2-2-1) will look to continue their strong play when they travel to take on Real Salt Lake next Saturday while Chivas USA (1-3-1) will look to snap its three-game losing streak when it travels to Houston earlier the same day.
