Groningen, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Ajax kept its slim title hopes alive on Wednesday as Luis Suarez scored in the 66th minute to give the Amsterdam club a 2-1 win over Groningen.

The win allows Ajax to head into the final day of the season trailing league- leaders PSV Eindhoven by three points. However, Ajax owns the edge in goal differential and can still claim the title with a win against Heracles and a PSV loss at Vitesse.

Groningen will enter the final day already assured of a spot in the UEFA Cup qualification playoffs as they visit middle-of-the-table Utrecht.

Rasmus Lindgren's header in the 18th minute put Ajax up 1-0 but Groningen leveled the match right before halftime through Matias Cahais.

However, PSV's title celebrations were put on hold until at least Sunday when Dennis Rommedahl set up an easy goal for Suarez with a good pass that left the striker with a tap in from close range.
