Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Former NBA star David Robinson, three-time volleyball gold medalist Karch Kiraly, wrestler Bruce Baumgartner and boxer Oscar de La Hoya highlight the U.S. Olympic Committee Hall of Fame class of 2008.

They are among 10 new individual members who will inducted June 19 in Chicago.

Other individual athletes honored were track star Joan Benoit, figure skater Brian Boitano, equestrian J. Michael Plumb, swimmer Amy Van Dyken, shooter Lones Wigger Jr. and Paralympic swimmer John Morgan.

The winners were disclosed at the U.S. Olympic Media Summit.

Additionally, the 1996 women's gymnastics squad consisting of Amanda Borden, Amy Chow, Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Jaycie Phelps and Kerri Strug were honored in the team category. Figure skating coach Carlo Fassi was chosen for the Hall in the coaching category, former Olympic figure skating gold medalist Carol Heiss Jenkins was selected in the veteran category and legendary Hollywood producer Frank Marshall as a special contributor.

Robinson was a member of the USA Basketball Dream Team in Barcelona in 1992. Nicknamed "The Admiral", Robinson is the only U.S. basketball player to be named to three Olympic teams. He won gold in 1992 and '96 and helped the Americans to a bronze in 1988, and was a two-time champion with the San Antonio Spurs, winning the NBA MVP in 1995.

Kiraly is the only player to win Olympic medals in both indoor and beach volleyball. He won gold in indoor volleyball in 1984 and '88, and captured gold in 1996 with partner Kent Steffes when beach volleyball made its debut in Atlanta.

Baumgartner is one of just eight U.S. Olympians to win medals in four different Olympics. He earned his first gold medal in 1984 in Los Angeles, and also captured a silver four years later and another gold in 1992. He was the U.S. flag bearer at the 1996 Summer Games, the year he won a bronze medal.

De La Hoya won the only gold medal for U.S. boxers in 1992 by winning the lightweight title, and he's gone on to a spectacular professional career. The Golden Boy, who currently sports a 38-5 pro mark, is a former champion in several weight classes.

The 1996 women's gymnastics team overcame tremendous odds to win the gold medal. Called the Magnificent Seven, the team's defining moment came when Strug landed her second vault despite an injured ankle to secure the gold.

"It's amazing to think that it's been 12 years since that wonderful achievement and that 12 years later we're being honored," Dawes said. "To tell us that we beat out the 1992 Dream Team - my most memorable experiences in my career is meeting the 1992 Dream Team. This is truly honoring and I'm very humbled to be here."

Benoit, a three-time Boston Marathon winner, won the gold medal in the Olympic marathon in 1984 - the first time it was run for women.

Boitano, a three-time Olympian, won the gold in 1988.

Plumb, an eight-time Olympian, tallied six medals during his career from 1960-84 and was named U.S. Rider of the Year 10 times. Plumb is also the first equestrian team member to be named to the Hall of Fame.

Van Dyken was the first woman to win four gold medals at one Olympics when she accomplished the feat in 1996.

Wigger was a three-time Olympian and won a pair of gold and a silver medal.

Heiss Jenkins won a silver medal following the 1956 Winter Games and was the Olympic champion four years later.

Marshall was the co-producer of "Olympic Glory" in 1999, while Fassi coached five Olympic champions, including Peggy Flemming and Dorothy Hamill. Morgan was a 15-time Paralympic medalist racing as a visually-impaired swimmer.
