Bridgeport, CT (My Sportsbook) - Maya Moore tallied a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace the top-seeded Connecticut Huskies in an 89-47 romp of the 16th-seeded Cornell Big Red in first-round action of the NCAA Tournament's Greensboro Regional. Charde Houston turned in 14 points for UConn (33-1), which will face either Texas or Minnesota in the second round. Brittany Hunter added 11 points and Renee Montgomery had 10, as the Huskies won their 12th straight decision. Allie Fedorowicz and Gretchen Gregg scored eight points apiece to guide Cornell (20-9) in its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Cornell was held without a field for nearly an 11 minutes span in the first frame and UConn used a 16-0 run in the period to open a commanding 53-23 lead at the break. The Huskies dominated the second half as well and held a 46-point lead midway through the frame before finishing with a 42-point victory. UConn, which hasn't won a first-round contest by less than 23 points dating back to 1995, shot 54.3 percent from the field on the night.
