Norfolk, VA (My Sportsbook) - Ashley Houts made eight free throws in the final minute of regulation to give the eighth-seeded Georgia Bulldogs a 67-61 victory over the ninth-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes in the first round of the New Orleans Region of the NCAA Tournament. Houts finished with 13 points for Georgia (23-9), which will now take on the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels in the second round. Angel Robinson led the way with 17 points and 11 boards, while Tasha Humphrey also tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Megan Darrah contributed 13 points in the win. Kristi Smith posted 17 points for Iowa (21-11), while Wendy Ausdemore chipped in 16 points in the losing effort. Iowa went into the break with a 31-25 lead after shooting 44.0 percent from the field, while also netting 5-of-10 three-point attempts. The Bulldogs answered back in the second stanza, connecting on 5-of-11 three- point shots, while also netting 11-of-15 free throw attempts, en route to the six-point win.
