Enschede, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Eljero Elia scored in stoppage time to give Twente a 2-1 win over second-place Ajax at Arke Stadion on Sunday, dealing the Amsterdam club a massive blow in its attempt to unseat PSV Eindhoven at the top of the league. PSV's 3-0 win over Groningen on Saturday along with Ajax's loss puts PSV up seven points with just four games to play, and makes them a good bet to capture their fourth consecutive Eredivisie title. The win was also big for Twente as they now move into sixth place and are very much in the running for a place in the UEFA Cup next season. Ajax was fortunate to take the lead after a scoreless first half when Twente's Douglas Franco scored an own goal against his side, putting his team down a goal with less than 30 minutes to play. The home side responded well, however, with Luke Wilkshire leveling the match in the 71st minute before Elia struck the final blow right at the end of the match. Feyenoord also suffered a disappointing loss on Sunday as they fell 3-2 to Sparta. A win would have moved them into third place and also put them level on 57 points with Ajax, but Marvin Emnes scored in stoppage time to give Sparta three valuable points that move them three points clear of the bottom three. Willem II beat Heracles 2-1, moving to within one point of safety, while NEC downed Venlo 2-1 as Jhon Van Beukering and Bas Sibum scored goals in the final 11 minutes to complete the comeback win.
