Albany, NY (My Sportsbook) - Oklahoma Cavalry guard Daryan Selvy was named
the CBA Player of the Year for the 2007-08 season, the league announced
Thursday.
The award was voted upon by the league's 10 head coaches. Selvy averaged 22.7
points per game, good for second in the league, and added averages of 6.5
rebounds and 1.8 steals.
Selvy, a University of Oklahoma product, was also an 85.8 percent free throw
shooter for the Cavalry, who recently won the National Conference and advanced
to the league's championship against the Minot Skyrockets. The best-of-five
series begins Saturday.
"Daryan is a worthy recipient of the Player of the Year award," CBA deputy
commissioner Dennis Truax said. "He has showed a variety of skills all season
long and is a big part of the success of the Cavalry this season."
