London, England (My Sportsbook) - Toro Rosso owner Dietrich Mateschitz has put the Italian Formula One team up for sale. But the sale will not take place in 2008. "It is not a big secret that we've put Toro Rosso on the market," Mateschitz told Motorsport Aktuell magazine. "We will only sell the team if it is put into safe hands." Mateschitz, who is also owns the Red Bull team, is hoping to have a buyer before the 2010 season. He needs to make the sale by then because changes in the Concorde Agreement will not allow one team to build cars for another team on the grid. Mateschitz bought the Minardi team from Paul Stoddart in 2006 and changed the name to Toro Rosso. Sebastien Bourdais, in his first F1 start scored two points for the team, while Sebastien Vettel finished 17th following a first-lap accident.
